OK, I'm a little confused by as to what you're asking. By "distorted octave tone," do you mean":
1. An octave distortion (ex. Octavia, Brassmaster, Superfuzz)
or
2. An octaver with distortion

1 cannot be accomplished with your current set up. You'd need an octave distortion for that. If you're asking about 2, you also need to define what is in your opinion a "really good distortion tone," because that can be extremely subjective. I personally hate the ODB-3, but many people love it.

I don't think he uses the the OC2 on every song. In fact, I think he mostly just uses a bunch of boss distortions at the same time.

I'm hearing an octave up too, but it's LightBlt so it may be guitar strings. I searched for sounds like that That track well...couldn't get it from an OC3...an OC2 (used in the clip) is better, but I found the Behringer tracks better! Believe it or not. (You really have to learn how to articulate cleanly with any octave box) The Boss OD used here is a bit synthetic sounding, but it sounds great in this overdriven rig. I finally found satisfaction from a MXR OcDelx into an Electronix Mess Drive Hybrid on modern sound, full treble. Tracks Great and is beefy, really pushes the low.

Now my ears aren't the best but I think I could do that playing high up and running my OC-2 into my Russian muff.
