I own both pedals and have been extremely happy with both. The Octave Deluxe tracks really well, and gives you a stable sub-octave down to at least Ab, and depending on how you're playing will go down to F#. I'm in the Macon area on most weekends as that's where my band's office is located. If you want to try out some pedals before you buy, let me know!

If you want boutique and don't mind waiting for the build, Iron Ether makes a ridiculous good filter. And since you're getting into the octave>filter thing, you might as well as get a fuzz to throw in between....

There is also a lot to be said about some of the more classic choices like the Boss Oc-2 or OC-3 octavers but they don't do the octave up thing and i also still love my EHX micro Q-Tron and Bass Balls.

i have pt 2 with
korg pitchblack
keeley ts9
prunes and custard
voodoolabs microvibe
crybaby wah
tech 21 nyc bass
goes to a
1200 watt 3x10 Kustom combo
just looking for a few more effects to fill out the board
i think im going to throw in a fromel Seraph chorus markbass super booster, micro pog, and either the agent 00funk or the filter twin. polish it off with either the keeley compressor or the trex tube compressor

the Twin Filter is interesting, but kinda quirky. i'd really recommend spending some time with it before shelling out the money.
for octavers i'm in LOVE with my Aggy Octamizer. |

i like the filter twins ability to do up and down at same time
and the aguilar ocatamizer is my second choice to the pog due to pog doing up and down octave

I see you've got the dirt covered. You should try the P&C and whatever octave you end up with... they play very well together (octave>P&C). |

probably going to order it with all the bells and whistles added on....
and unless i get some more input on any sweet octave pedals its probably going to be the aguilar...

I tried the Aguilar Octave and found it a little too thick for my taste. I use the MXR BOD and like it because it just seems a little cleaner and has a mid bump button that enables it to cut in the mix better (IMO). If I want to thicken things up, I just add dirt. |
