Octave Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all-

I don't normally use Octaves and always thought of myself as a bit less informed on the subject. Typically I have used them with my 6-string guitars on solos. But have struggled to get the right sound out of my bass.

So I am looking for one that would best complement my bass. My single most ideal objective is to have an Octave that will emulate a note one octave above the note played. Obviously it would be great to have the divider emulate the 5th, 3rd, 7th and such. I have a Johnson Marque for my 6-strings that does that. It would also be a nice, but certainly not a deal killer if the Octave emulated notes below.

So what I am looking for are suggestions on what brand could fit the bill for me. My guess is that based on my own limited use of these effects, that most everyone on TB would be more experienced in these matters.

With that...Please chime in...

Thanks,

Jazz

Well, the Akai Unibass does one octave up, and can add a fifth up, or fourth down, with or without distortion...

It is close to what you are looking for...

Ebay has one now... Buy It Now for $275 it think...

I would suggest Micro POG unless you want something that sounds strictly analog.

There is a digitech bass harmonizer in the classifieds for $125, does both up and down octaves...

Kinda gets you half way there...
