Octave thread part 2: Pog. or Micro?

Sign in to disble this ad
Thanks to everyone that helped with my descision making on my previous thread, i appreciate it.

I come to you with this question, should I go with the cheaper Micro Pog, or more expensive but featureful, full Pog. If anyone has either, sound clips would be great!

Thanks

The questions you need to ask yourself are:

- Do I need +1 AND +2 octaves up, like on the full-size POG?
- Do I need detuned octaves and a low-pass filter for extra creative flexibility, like on the full-size POG?
- Do I need full-fledged "organ" sounds, more full and convincing than what's on the Micro POG?
- Do I have space to fit the full-size POG on my board?
- Am I willing to deal with the 18VDC wall wart of the full-size POG, or is the 9VDC Micro POG the better choice?

The full-size POG is not only full of extra features, but also extra inconveniences. The Micro POG is far smaller and more convenient, but is pretty much a stripped-down version of its bigger brother.

Time to start interrogating yourself.

Rubber hose? That's inhumane!

I usually just use Barbra Streisand records for my interrogations. That gets 'em talking!

Wall Wart, yes. 2 octaves..... maybe not haha. The low pass filter sounds like it would be right up my alley, and detune octaves would help. I think the more full Organ sounds would be great, and I don't have a cluttered board, I'm not too big in effects yet, so i have room lol.

and yes, i have rented shortbus Bongo hahahahahaha

I have been doing my research, and.... i think, since I'm not an effects addict yet, I might actually drop the major $$$ on The HOG.... It just seems alot more versatile to me. and not that much more expensive especially with the 4th octave option.

+1, I have A/Bed them with the POG and liked the HOG hands down. I had made a thread about it, a good search will bring it to the surface.
