Octaver types

So I have been looking to add an octaver to my pedal board but I am not sure where to start. I want a unit that will help me achieve a good dub sound AND be able to use as a building block for a good synth chain.

My first comparison is analog vs. digital. I am not sure hat direction to do in.

My first impression is that folks who do dub don't like digital pedals.
