Octavius Squeezer versus/with Agent00Funk

I'm a proud owner of an Octavius Squeezer. While the presets are a little on the wild side for my tastes, I'm slowly learning to program it. I dig the true bypass, patch recall and general sound quality.

Does anyone agree that the envelope portion is a bit on the tame side? I'm having a hard time getting a real wet, underwater tone (think Bootsy or Cordell).

My question is: how does the Octavius' envelope compare to the Agent00Funk's? I'm intrigued because while their website says that the OS "includes a dedicated filter circuit bred in our Agent 00Funk and Agent 00Funk Mark II envelope filters," the unit also includes an AUX IN jack for pairing with the Agent00. What's the incentive to buy the Agent00 if the OS already has that filter/control?

After delving through the 40 odd parameters in the OS, it seems like being able to grab all the controls on the Agent00's cabinet would be helpful. On the spot tweaking would be much easier.

Or, should I save up for a Meatball? Anyone pleased with their OS's envelope?

I own an OS and I've tried the 00Funk (just a couple times in store) but I've never A/Bed them directly. The Squeezer seems to need a hotter signal or more aggressive playing for the envelopes to really open up, but otherwise they don't seem that different. FWIW, I've tweaked all of the presets that are envelope only to sound a little closer to what I want out of them. And since the OS has parameters that are analogous to the knobs on the 00Funk, I was able to make a patch very close to the "Smooth Criminal" sample on the Chunk site.

The reason I was excited when I heard Chunk was building a synth was that I always thought the 00Funk Mk II and the Brown Dog together were much more suited for synthy noises than funky ones.

Sure, the OS & 00Funk can be funky, but there are a lot more filters out there with a more warm or "organic" tone. To me, the filters on the Chunk pedals are more "clean" and hi-fi sounding and suited for synth applications as opposed to "dirty" and vintage. Which type is better really depends on your filter needs.

That's my take anyway.
