OD or comp?

OK, here's my dilemma...one of the foot switches on my B2 has started acting up and I have to send it to Samson before my warranty is up on Dec 7. It should take 5 weeks to get it back. So obviously this is a perfect excuse to upgrade right? The problem is I can't make up my mind which I'll be missing more, the compressor or the "tube pre." I don't think I can afford both. I've considered the ART tube PAC but I'm not sure it gets quite as much drive as I would want. I'm thinking about maybe a DHA VT1 Bass Standard or a BBE Opto Stomp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm looking mostly for subtle overdrive. My favorite patch on the B2 is a little "tube pre" OD to make it glow with a dash of comp to make it pop out at you. If that means anything. It's not quite crunchy, kind of bouncy.

"Or"? What means "or"? Try DHA and BBE. You know you can scrounge the dough out of one week's pay.
