| OD dilemma, need advice

I currently have both an Ibanez PD7 and a fulltone bass drive (non mosfet). Lately ive decided the bass drive wasnt for me, and that I do really enjoy the sound of the pd7 - except that its so freakin noisy it pisses me off. I play an ibanez edb600 (active), and feel as though the bass drive loses so much low end and doesnt have as much "crunch?" as the pd7.
I use the pd7 for mild overdrive and usually put the attack setting to one - I like the bite it adds and my bass really comes through well. Is there a pedal u guys can think of that sounds like the pd7 without the noise? Or is it a specific type of OD i should look search for since it seems tubescreamers arent for me?(though it could be the active bass with the bass driver...or maybe i dont like the tone knob and would prefer bass/treble controls Im not sure...)
