OD pedal with gain and blend?

Sign in to disble this ad
So i love the overdrive channel on my Fender Rumble but seeing i dont use it too gig with i looking for a pedal that can get me something like it. It only has a blend and a gain.

So shoot me some good OD's with just blend and gain or blend and gain and other knobs.

Tech 21 VT bass would probably suit you just fine.

No blend on the VT. I really like the distortion on the Fender Rumble, maybe a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive or Sansamp BDDI would do the job for you, there's not a huge amount of choice if you want an overdrive with built in blend.

pork loin, sparkle drive, and the new ibanez bass tube screamer (not out yet) come to mind. you could always buy a boss ls-2 and use it to blend any od so youre not limited to the few that have an onboard blend.

The TC Nova drive also has a blend on the overdrive side - pretty much the same as a TS with a blend a la Sparkle Drive. However, you also have a tasty distortion channel too that can be mixed in various ways and a number of memory slots, if you like that sort of thing.

+1 on the ls-2 suggestion. I've got a Marshall Guv'nor and an EHX LBMP in the loop blended with the clean. Both sound mighty.

FYI the clean blend on the Pork Loin is AMAZING. I have it all the way "clean" giving me a butt-kicking ballsy drive with enough hair to satisfy my tastes.

Sparkle Drive. Great, blendable OD IMO.

My signal chain using LS2 to blend clean and BB Preamp OD signals, then into fairly clean VT Bass.

Well the LS-2 is looking like a good choice, i could use it to blend my clean with the OD and fuzz i already have.

Thanks guys, i'll look into it.

I've been talking to Nick from N.O.C.3 pedals, and his PureDrive looks pretty intriguing. You should get it and post sound clips for us.

For those of you recommending the Pork Loin, how do you have the internal pots set?
