The fx in the recorder comes regardless of the amp. But I'm not sure if the fx comes before or after the amp, but I thought it was after.
But you do hear the fx in the recorder instantly.

Yes it should be taking the mic'ed signal and changing that.... I thought. But it is instant output.....right ? For live use.?

Yes it works for live use. The only thing you can't hear is the reverb. You have to turn it on via the dial on the mixer.
And the compressor is totally awesome. Better than any of the foot pedal compressors.

That's what I thought but the way I read the IK forum it wasn't [on] unless dealing with a recorded signal first. Ok I was about to forget about getting the fx, but I'm better now

The compressor is great, but I also love The plate reverb and chorus. You need to adjust how much effect you want to blend in the signal.
Anyone try the Rocksmith cable? I did some searching and it works with the 30-pin with the right adapter.
Seems the camera connection kit has that adapter, and it works. But the cables have a rep for being junk.
It seems like there is a DAC inside the cable. But it doesn't say anything about the resolution of this DAC in the web site.
The Apogee for instance do 44.1/48 kHz, 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion. It is not "great" as other DAC's can do 96kHz 24 bit or 192kHz and 24 bits, but it is actually better then CD quality at 44.1kHz and 16bits.

I would never use the reverb live. There would be a ridiculous amount of ambience in a large room already. I'm more interested In the compressor and eq and chorus. And 7 more tracks of course.

If you can get 48kHz great ...... Any more than that is really overkill (not really) but one instrument at 48kHz is superb clarity and definition. A cd is the whole band mixed together and formatted down to 44.1kHz so for one instrument it's more than enough.

The playing is far from perfect as it was not easy to figure out the notes (As Mike played some by bass, some by Moog Taurus), but I really love that song which is so epic and powerful.
I wonder how long it'll take for someone to come up with a way to keep the signal digital through the output. So many mixers have digital ins, wouldn't this be a logical step in the future?
What if there was reissues of famous vintage amps made with a digital out before the power amp section or...... a tube DI with with the same famous vintage preamp on the front end (bassman, b-15, svtcl,..ect.) no power amp section, with digital or DI out?

Motivated from my PBDDI with Oxford blend I've tried yesterday to run the Oxford in front of Amplitube iOS and the B15R:
You can easily hear when the Oxford is engaged: http://soundcloud.com/duke21/bits-and-pieces-b15r-with
I could actually wish for a blend function in AT for how much amp should be used, kind of like with the PBDDI. Will make it a bit easier to combine with other external preamps!

Yes indeed!
When I play music from my Mac or my iPad I always keep the signal digital and use either the Airport Express or my DACmini (Optic cable or coax) to convert the music to analog before sending it into my headphones or my HiFi rig.

What I'm saying is keep it digital the whole way to the mixer. So many mixers have digital inputs these days, why not??
True. Maybe it's further off than I'd like, but eventually being able to keep the signal digital would be a bonus. I've got digital ins on my Roland VS recorder, it would be cool to be able to use AT with that.
Ain't that stupid the store part is different. No new gear or nothing.
