Well, for a nube like me who have been playing only 4-5 years you level is impressive! Watching you or Steve Harris is for me about the same as you both have this nice "flying" fingers.
I love to play with a pick, mainly due to the tone. I do try a bit finger playing, mostly on my Geddy as I like this flamenco style, thus I want to get better at this.
Btw, there are 2 new clips on my soundcloud which I didn't post here yet.
These settings works very nice for my 4003 (see my "Ric me up" clip). For my Geddy this settings gets too harsh on the treble side and not as organic when I use the pic but quite nice for chords on the A-D-G strings with fingers.
Edit: this is also a dry track recorded straight into GB on my iPad2 .........notice the hiss and noise

You know you can record it dry in Amplitube as well? Amplitube iOS can export a wave file out, while GB only a AAC. Otherwise I'm not sure which recorder have "best" quality.

I think it is great that you post tracks recorded on real hardware with a mic in front of a cab. As you say, there is hiss and noise also when using real amps and a mic. The Bassman Ten is I guess a small SS bass combo? An all tube bass head cranked up might produce even more noise, specially if there are neon light or other interference in the room such as ground noise etc.
Just to state a point here (in case JimmyM reads through this thread.... ), I have nothing about real bass bass heads specially all tube heads! I'll be VERY pleased to own a SVT CL or a B15R, but I've no budget for that...
As it is, I've to live with D.I. sound, thus my Sansamps, or even the lighter and more flexible solution-- Amlitube iOS and an iPad.
Adam, you might have an answer for that:
I've downloaded and installed AT 3 on my MacBook Pro and got the demo of the B15R from the Custom Shop. I use Apogee Jam as input and my Centrance DACport DAC/ headphone amp for output. this setup should give UBER sound. But for some reason I have this "whooosssh" sound come and goes every 30-40sec and last for about 1-2sec each time. Do you have any idea what is it and how do I get rid of it?

I could've used AT but I was fooling around with GB at the time. GB allow for 4 different export options 3 different encoding strengths and an uncompressed AAC. I used the smallest amount of encoding for this one ( highest bit rate) I wish AT had that option

Amplitube can export wav file out if you export the file into the file sharing library, so you can pick it up from iTunes. Wav file is better then any AAC format.

The bassman ten is a silverface 4x10 combo it consists of the silverface diode rectifier and then into the 12ax7 tube in the tone stack ( in the preamp) into a 12at7 tube to drive the two 6L6 output tubes.. This would be what I would use if amps were allowed on stage, but since they are not .....AT is my choice that sounds the best to me.

I think the intermittent hum/buzz is the whole "demo gear" thing. I did once try out a new amp they were offering and it did something like that...... if I recall correctly. It drove me insane. I think they do that so someone can't just keep switching to a new piece of gear and use it until it expires then move on to the next one.if you really want to use it you have to buy it.

Yeah I tried the AAC format first but it was taking forever to load onto soundcloud so I picked the smallest encoding just to get it out there. A wave file for the length of the clip would have been ginormous. So I picked the lesser of the two evils.

Yes, a wave file will be big... But you can make a flac file afterwards!
Btw, just tried AT-3 with the B15R and the SVT CL. If the B15R on AT iOS sound good, then the one one AT3 sound amazing! the noise issue: you just have to put inn the serial number from your profile and the noise is gone. Also on the demo. But now I wish I didn't try the demo... It sounded so good. Apogee inn the MacBook and Centrance DACport DAC/ headphone amp out.... great sound!
The DACport DAC/headphone amp is the aluminum thing by the of the Apogee Jam.

The thing about the B15R on AT 3 vs the B15R on AT iOS is that it seems that the desktop unit have more gain available on the desktop B15R, and more gain/ OD is something I like . To get the same grit/ dirt tone out of the B15R on AT iOS I need to use the Møller OD in addition.
The funny thing is while the desktop B15R have more aggressiveness available the SVT CL on AT 3 was kind of "tame" compares to throne on AT iOS.... So I actually liked the SVT CL on AT iOS better even though it lacked this creamy lows that the desktop version had.
As I've mention in my earlier port, my tone chain on the desktop version was top notch. Apogee Jam inn and DACport on the way out. My DACport can do 96khz/24 bit. But the limiting factor is the Apogee with 48khz. I'm not sure if the Apogee do 16 or 24bits.
Btw, I didn't like the recorder on AT 3, the 8 track recorder on AT iOS was way better/ easier to use!

I've never touched the recorder on AT3 :/ I've always played with it in the stand alone application while looking around and noodling and then used it as a plug-in inside a daw. It opens up and looks just like the stand alone app once you select it as a plug-in.

I dig it. Your tones are really evolving. The Apogee is awesome. I can't wait to get one so my sounds can be this quiet (in a good way)!!
Thanks Paul!
I'm quite happy about my tone now as I'm found how to use the B15R (which lack a bit drive when I'm after the more aggressive high mids OD tone) alone when I want the nice clarity of the B15R. Or the B15R with the Møller when I want more grit!
The Møller OD is really the B15R best friend!! Sett gain on about 75% blend on 20%... bingo!
I've noticed that the Moller tends to sound best at lower blend settings. Of course, I'm the worst person to comment on an Overdrive pedal since I prefer cleaner tones, but the Moller at lower blend settings really adds some cool hair to the B15R.
Hopefully IK will surprise us with something cool for Christmas.
