Well, that pretty much says nothing. Except that there's no new bass gear coming anytime soon from IK. | Typical..... As usual they say they follow the IK forum threads and are actually listening to our wishes... but as usual they use more then a year in between releases that have any interest for us. This year was "big" considering the B15R and the Møller OD came out. The Møller was not likely in order to please us, but luckily for me/ us the Møller is exactly what the B15R needs when a bit more grit is needed.
I've found now that the B15R + Møller OD + Envelope Filter gives a lot of possibilities regarding tone adjustment. In addition the master compressor and master para-EQ fix the rest. I want to think Rip for finding this sweet way of using the envelope filter, really a tone booster!
Btw, I've tried the Ampkit for desktop on my MacBook. It is exactly the same as the iPad version. I could not really hear any different in performance differences, even though 30min trial are not much. So I'm not going to buy this app for my MacBook. BUT, if I didn't have this app on my app with all of the inn app stuff that I've bought I would have bought the Ampkit as the price of the desktop unit is quite ridiculously low. 350 Norwegian krone's with ALL amps, cabs and mics included (!!!) is cheap.

Nah, but this response from IK to Rip regarding no 30pin interface is planed in the near future... Well, for my part that is THEIR problem, as long as they wait more people which do not get decent sound with the iRig will get upset.... so many will just claim Amplitube iOS/ iRig suck. As far as I see it, there are 2-3 good interfaces out there which are a good choice.
The first choice is the Apogee which is among the cheapest 30pin interface. It is as simple as the iRig and give great tone. Major minus is the lack of headphone/ line out jack.
The second choice must be something like the ART Adam use or the iTrack. The iTrack will basically be a perfect solution which answer to about every demand. The major minus is price (which is not really that high) and "size".
All and all, many of us bass players got the basic plot, Amplitube iOS can be a great tool live or at home.
As I see it:
iPad + iTrack + Amplitube iOS cost about the same as a 500W calss D amp. But there is much more one can do with the virtual package, live or at home.
And, to get JimmyM of my neck . Yes, I will love to own a real B15R or a real SVT 2 Pro with a 8x10" cab. But it is most likely never gone happen due to several reason. And, I an not claiming that the virtual package have better tone, I'm not a fool! |

This sentence "We have a few surprises before some more bass gear, but these surprises will be VERY popular." still bugs me. What the hell can the new popular release be? A Jimmy H. pack? A Eric C. pack? Maybe a Metallica guitar pack? Now I can for sure see how all the 15-16 years old guitar players (to my experience it is the common age for becoming a Metallica fan) gets excited about such a release!! |

Btw, I've placed a "restriction" in our Virtual Soundcloud group, thus tracks will not be approved automatically. I'm not doing this in order to limit you my friends! I just do it because when tracks are not approved automatically we get the stamp "Moderated" on our group. I think it will make the group look a bit more serious. That is the ONLY reason behind it. If you think I'm wrong, just say so, and I'll remove this restriction.

It may not be a Metallica pack, but you can bet it'll be some trendy thing for guitarists. Little fanboy packages, I like to call them.
It's a real shame IK isn't in better touch with its customers. |

It's a real shame IK isn't in better touch with its customers. | Well, I'm not that into the various guitar heroes, especially not much about who is hot today. My guitar heroes are Steve Hackett, Steve Howe, Roine Stolt.... now if they give one of this fan pack I'll be shocked!! |

| That kills me......why so hot on just guitarist?
Not one new bass amp can be released?
Even with a "guitar pack" one bass amp can't be pushed through in the time a whole guitar package with pedals and amps?

Maybe I should invest in a Chapman Stick as 6 of its strings are guitar gauge.... Then I could maybe enjoy of all these guitar amps.
Nah, I'm a bit or shell be more correct to say really disappointed, but not surprised....
They give out the Fender pack, the Slash pack, and then gives us the very first bass amp since.... Amplitube iOS have been released. Then they run for an other guitar pack. And still no 30pin interface... How is the noise issue with the iRig and guitar on Amplitube? Don't they get lots of noise with all the distortion they use???
I would think a 30pin interface is just as important for guitar players as for us? |

| | How does he do that? | | | | | 50% + 1!!!
Yea, I was really looking forward to the iRig Stomp thinking that the gain knob and external 9v power supply capability would overcome the iRig's problems with noise and hiss, but I was disappointed.
So I don't think they care too much about providing the best modeling solution, but rather to milk this (Amplitube running on iDevices craze) cow dry!!!
I cant rely entirely on my ears to play, so having a rig next to me (at reasonable to me sound levels) helps me better respond to the music. I sub every once in a blue moon on my kids WT, but we play together all the time and on our family/cell worship.
Right now I just need a quick and easy solution for practice and for developing ideas whenI don't want to go through the hassle of setting up in our "music" room.

At least they have us one quality amp before they ignored us. The B15R turned things around for us, and they've gotta know that by now, yet as Christmas rolls around, they want to cash in so they'll cater to the zit-faced Guitar Center crowd of teenage guitar wannabes. Oh well.
I agree, it'll probably be an AC/DC pack. Or Metallica. Though I think if they do a "band" pack, they should include the bass amp as well. |

AC/DC is the most awesome hard rock band in history! And yes, Angus Young is the lead guitarist and his older brother Malcolm (the real leader of AC/DC) is the rhythm player.

I also know from the few YT clips I've seen that they are a very good live act. But I do not own a single CD of AC/DC so I am not familiar with the band in detail etc, maybe I should!

Guy I'm ashamed that jimmy had to tell you who angus was
Maybe speaking of jimmy how about jimmy page he's number three in the rolling stone mag in the top 100 guitarist of all time. And effect heavy sometimes and popular and he used orange amps sometimes didn't he?
This is what Wikipedia said on studio amps and effects:
He usually recorded in studio with a Vox AC30, Fender, and Orange amplification. The first Led Zeppelin album and the solo on "Stairway to Heaven" were played on a Fender Telecaster through a Supro amplifier.[120]
Page used a limited number of effects, including a Maestro Echoplex,[120][121][122] a Dunlop Cry Baby, an MXR Phase 90, a Vox Cry Baby Wah, a Boss CE-2 Chorus, a Yamaha CH-10Mk II Chorus, a Sola Sound Tone Bender Professional Mk II, an MXR Blue Box (distortion/octaver) and a DigiTech Whammy.[120] Page also played a theremin.[120]

Does anyone else have reversed functions on the b15R in Amplitube for iPad?
My ultr hi and lo switches are actually opposite of what is labeled and the on/off switch is backwards too.
I have to turn on he ultra hi to get a low boost and I have to turn the amp off in order to get the processed signal.
Not the case on my 4s.
