Ok. A quick report regarding Audiobus, Jamup XT, Multitrack DAW..
I bought ADB and MTD. Fire them up and link them per the video/tutorial that Rip shared... my phone hangs... if I disconnect the Jam from the port the phone becomes responsive again and I can shut everything down.
I still have 2 hrs of oncall left, so tomorrow I'll try by disabling WiFi, network, going into airplane mode, etc. For those of you following along, I have an iPhone 4 (no S).

Tried the Audiobus with the DAW on my iPad 1, things goes quite slow on the start up of the process, and even tough I've got a signal in JU I didn't managed to get any sound out into my PA or any sound in the DAW. I'm not sure why, maybe I do not understand yet the DAW interface.
Btw, in the input side of Audio bus I could choose only microphone or my Moog app, nothing there about 30pin interface.
My impression is that this kind of multitasking demands an iOS device with dual core CPU in order to work in an optimal manner.
So bottom line, no success from my part either, will try it with my iPad mini today. Also important to note that the latest iOS version on iPad 1 is 5 something, while newer iOS devices have iOS 6.01.
I'm not worried as I guess some bugs can or will appear so early in the development phase of Audiobus.
Usually just playing music through them at a decent level for a few days. There's are also apps created specifically for this purpose, but I can't comment on whether they are any good or not.
Just playing music is the way, some goes into playing white noise or pink noise as well. I do not need burn in app as my tinnitus functions as a burn in app I just need to sleep with the IEM in my ears....
There is a debate in the HiFi world regarding all the burn in process. Some claim burn in do work some say it is only placebo effect. Some HiFi extremist even claim burn in of cables is important!
I'm not sure what is right. From what I've been reading balance armature drivers do need burn in while the usual dynamic driver do need burn in.

I haven't heard anything about bugs yet. In fact, if you look at Audiobus in the App Store, ALL the ratings are 5-star with NO complaints.
I'm guessing the older iOS may have been your gremlin. I'm bummed I gotta wait till Friday to add Audiobus. I'm dying to see how it performs on my 4S. Only problem is that I'm not sure ill have enough supporting apps to run it right away. This is probably gonna be at least another $30 investment for me, with Audiobus, Multitrack DAW, and the bass amp pack in Jamup. Plus, I MUST have that MOOG app, so there's another eight bucks.
Man, I remember the good old days, where we dropped a couple grand on an amp stack and we were done. None of this new-fangled software update stuff!! (Kidding, of course. )

I know for a fact that it made a difference with my Triplefi 10's. they sounded weak, almost "paper", if that makes sense. Like cheap bargain speakers. I was actually pissed, because I paid $185 for them. Then I did some research and found that everyone that owned them had the same issue when they first got them, but after a 48 hour burn-in, the low end opens up and the sound is downright amazing.
So yeah, I agree that for cheaper drivers it won't make much difference, but for higher end earbuds, just plug them into something when you're not using them (for the first few days) and let the drivers do their thing.

I trust your opinion! So now we know, also balanced armature drivers need or can benefit from burn in. Good to know!
So if I decide to go with the Jam as my interface, what's the best way to "enhance" the output signal, or am I stuck with what I've got from the headphone jack?
I can always tweak the signal at the board if needed, but it would be seriously cool to see an interface similar to the Jam, but with outputs as well. The ART is close, but I'm not 100% certain that it'll work on my iPhone.

Agree, all this apps cost money some more some less. Nut we virtual players are actually quite lucky. Think what we would have to pay to own both a Redhead, a SVT Blue line and some more!!!
The main investment regarding hardware is the iOS device, the interface (iRig/ Apogee Jam etc.), a decent mini mixer and a good sett of IEM. Then we are ready to jam live! All of it together including the software is far less then a full size rig.

The iTrack is probably the best bet for best control over the tone, but I think that the Apogee Jam will solve most issues as you eliminate the cross talk etc which are to be found by using the iRig. Digital sound going in through the dock port, analog sound going out through the headphone socket, which is not bad when you only send a signal out! I think that if you send you signal to your own mixer then you obtain a very good sound what so ever and the PA by itself will be the limiting factor.
Duke, I really like the new clips you posted. They do a great job of showing the differences in the amp models. The Blueline really has that Ampeg tone. The Redhead is, well, we all know how I feel about that one.

Thanks Rip, that is the idea behind my clips. I usually do not have the time to make the perfect clips where I'm totally satisfied with my playing: I do play things that are a bit random and not always well rehearsed...
The volume on the various clips varies a bit, as I'm still not so used to the differences in the gain/ volume between the various amps, but I think that as you say the clips show something about the possibilities of tone withing each amp.
Btw, since I'v not posted yet my last clips here on the TB thread, here they are:
Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine (The Killers) main bass theme, Geddy Lee Jazz Bass (because the Killers bass player use it )

I'm following your experience with this. I posted on their ( audiobus ) forum yesterday and inquired about the requirements listed on the App page showing the IP4, and even the 3GS as capable of running the app but the developer strongly recommends the use of a dual-core chip device ( iPad2/IP4S) or better. Derek and Michael posted with responses that indicate it might be possible to run Audiobus on a IP4 but it's not going to be an optimal experience
I'm still thinking about buying it but I might try scanning the craigslist and ebay postings to try and find an iPad2-3 for sale. I may also ditch the iPhone, go back to a dumb phone and pick up a new iPod touch instead. The apps I enjoy using ( Thumbpad/Figure/iKaossilator ) all feel better on the smaller device. An iPad Mini might also be perfect but that is out of my price range at the moment.
Based on the info from the link that BluesMan posted, I'm just out of luck trying to run ADB on my plain ol' iPhone 4...
Rats! Now I gotta tell the wife that I MUST upgrade to an iPad 2... Bummer!
It seems you're right, but you may still be ok as long as you don't push the limits of your iPhone4 too much. Airplane mode, turn off wifi, the usual stuff, plus don't add too many tracks at once.
But yeah, the dual processors are gonna be your friend.
That is the price of multitasking when it is really utilized. My iPad 1 will struggle, luckily I got the iPad Mini which has a dual core.
Also, I think future updates on the Audiobus/ JU/ DAW might improve stuff. I remember when I had to restart my iPod gen.2 very often when Amplitube crashed due to low CPU power, but one of the updates made AT work MUCH better. So there is some hope!
