I am sorry, but who the heck is this Slash guy? I couldn't find that bass player anywhere on the web. Does anyone know about this bass player?
[/sarcasm]
No John Paul Jones, Chris Squire, Dave LaRue? What gives Amplitube?
I play guitar as well and like Amplitube 3 but just didn't like the limited options for the bass player. No, I do not approach the bass the same as my 6-string guitar, maybe that is my problem?
So what about that audiobus? Is it working with Amplitube yet?
Most people would ask "John Paul who?" Ain't that sad?
Bassist just don't get the attention that is really due them.
I'm not saying that I need more attention. Because if I just wanted the attention then I would play lead only. It ain't about the attention it's about the music and serving the art (song). And I don't trust anyone else to do the bass part justice . Amplitube does need to come off the bass amps in the desktop version. It's not "that" hard to port down something already there.

I still have the app on my phone, but it's now the app I don't delete because I've invested too much money into it. Kinda funny, because that honor used to belong to AmpKit. I still have AmpKit as well, and continue to install the updates for both, but I haven't even opened the apps in weeks.
Now, with Audiobus and lack of support by certain apps, it has become clear what app should get my attention.
Amplitube has a "built-in" recorder, so I doubt they'll ever add support for Audiobus.
For me, I'm an Audiobus fan because I can now record on my phone with very few limits. I can do keyboard sounds with Sunrizer XS, loop my bass with Loopy, run full effects that are aimed at bass with Jamup XT, and record it with up to 24 tracks (with dedicated compression and EQ for each track) with Multitrack DAW. Everything is linked flawlessly via Audiobus.
I can't think of anything I'm really lusting after right now, other than the perfect interface!!
Audiobus will probably never work with Amplitube, as IK wants to keep all the money inside their app.
Honestly, if you're running on an iOS device, you owe it to yourself to check out Jamup XT. There's a Bass Expansion Pack available that will blow your mind!! Not to mention the amazing connection that Positive Grid has with their users.
Amplitube is a nice introduction to the works of iOS bass, but you'll quickly outgrow it as other apps do the job better, and have the ability to use Audiobus.
Yes I have Jamup XT for my 3GS and iPad. I have already outgrown the Amplitube at least for iOS. I can understand keeping things as a package as it would be less conflicts. I still use GarageBand for the iPad and Logic Pro 9 for the Mac.
I am checking out the MT DAW for the iOS. Would be good for sharing ideas while visiting with friends out of state.

It's a bit sad IK/ Brian/ Obi do not come with any real interesting/ new information about their products expect the normal marketing statements. As it is we are lucky JimmyM is visiting this thread and enlighten us with his well known Ampeg knowledge and passion. Also, what would we have done without Steve R and his tech notes?
Also we can thank other veterans such as Rip which have long experience and have probably played with most of the typical backlines provided on various stages.

Sad but going through the thread for the different contributors, SteveRolf hasn't been by the thread at all if he has I must have missed it while going through. There have been a few others that i did not give a number because they didn't say anything about using it or getting it through AT or JU like one guy had one post of "wow these amp sims have really come a long way in a short time" and that was it. So..... But if anyone came in and had any showing of having AT b15r or JU bass expansion even not just the b15 then they got a number.
Yes thanks to JimmyM and his contribution. A sure...honorable mentioning.

Steve haven't been to this thread? Hmm, well his contribution in general on the iOS bass player and 101 is always very informative.

I have recently put the bddi in front of the b15 in jamup and with the blend on full and the drive at 1 it has the same sound that was on the video that (I can't remember who it was) but he was demoing the vt bass pedal. (Ben lemelin I think)

Today was the first time I've actually heard the BDDI. With the Irig, it just sounded like a ripped speaker.
Today, it sounded good. Like, actual TONE. With the Irig I was constantly tweaking, trying to get the lowest noise and the most output.
The Jam sounds awesome, no denying that. But the coolest thing is that for the first time with all this iOS stuff, today I was able to just PLAY. Not tweak, not spending 20 minutes swearing at my phone and finally walking away in disgust. I just played.

Cool! Thx so much for posting this. I gotta try it.

Nice of you guys to say...I just remember how hard it was to get decent info when I was starting out playing. And I remember what it's like not to have a B-15.

My first time I've played on a real B15 was a real eye opener! Loved it. I didn't know back then if it was due to the B15 or the Rickenbacker 4001 from 79 that I've tried at the first time. The B15 was from 1966 and in mint conditions. The store had it just to lure customer into the shop and try stuff.... They say it is not for sale, whatsoever.
