But if you watch the video, he shows you his sound without the pedal. Use that sound to set the AMP. Either the GK or the Blueline will get it. I used the Blueline.
Then set the BDDI, always keeping your low end while being sure to keep the mids under control. If you get too many high mids in there, you'll lose that character.
You'll have to tweak your EQ a but for your setup, but here's my settings for the Making Frienemies clip.
And my secret weapon, set for ROOM reverb, just to give a little ambience.
Here's the clip again so you don't have to go searching for it. http://soundcloud.com/rip_topaz/maki...mies-at-kicked |

i tried to match the clip in AT using the Pedals:red compressor, black distortion, 6 band eq, then noise filter last into the CL with 4x12b cab and the sm57 and then mastering FX (PARA EQ and then COMPRESSOR)

In the original there wasnt much hiss at all while hearing it in app. But hearing it on soundcloud huge amounts. I'll go back in and repost this to see if there is a change. It doesn't sound like the original. very tiny sounding on the soundcloud file too
Hmmmmmm?

Apparently there's an update coming, with some really cool stuff, including Audiobus support. It'll be able to be used in all three slots: input, effects, AND output. |

There are some pedals on AT which I really dig, like the Moller, the Fender Phaser. Bit it is not enough for me. So, I'll wait until IK add some new and cool/ unique bass gear or features to the app.

Hello guys! I'm not as active lately but I'm following the thread.
Duke, I was listening to your medley the other day. Nice sounds in there. Has me thinking I should probably learn how to play with a pick; the attack is so different with a pick.
Rip, good to see you're recovering well.
Adam, I gotta go back and review your (and Rip's) take of the frienemies sound. Ben uses a custom bass from a shop in Montreal so his bass' voice may be a big part of "his sound".

take 2 https://soundcloud.com/adambombbrown/vtpedal-clone2-m4a
still very hissy in AT because of the amps and all the pedals thats just the nature of AT i guess.
also the track again wasnt this hissy (it was a bit but not as much as after the upload. so give the settings a try. even the saved track is not this hissy something about the upload is compressing the dynamic or something and its not as full so its coming out more intensely high bright if that makes sense. but i would use this live. in listening to it as the track plays in APP its much closer than the others i have done so it is getting dialed in for sure.

Also my ultra switches are still backward so the ultra high is off and the low is on
I used the portaflex because of this thread.
i would probably use the blueline in JAMUP for the next try
his active bass im sure has a lot to do with the beginning tone

.......more to come
