Actually, I've been spending all afternoon trying to figure out what separate mod pedals I'd have to hang on to if I get the Mobius. I think I could get rid of my Flanger Hoax, my Whetstone, and my Bitcrusher at least. That should come close to paying for the Mobius. I could keep the rest of my mod pedals. |

That makes me sad because Ryan is awesome and he needs to be repped on my board. The Faye Sing would be the battleground effect. Can the Mobius do a manual sweep like the Faye where it sounds like the Second Voice behind some fuzz? Can the mamual filter sweep be so syrupy I can stop my search for a Brain Freeze? The destroyer is everything I've looked for but never found in a pedal....it would be dope if the chorus could go as nonwarbly as a Polytope or Chromachorus. But that's not a dealbreaker.....all else would be lagniappe. But we're already past $459. |

i'm curious what this sounds like, but the more i think about it, the less useful it is. live at least. |

| | OK. Now I'm biased. Endorsed Artist: Myco Pedals | | Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: Lake Charles, La | | So I preordered mine from The Guitar Sanctuary out of Texas. You only have to put down 25%. http://www.theguitarsanctuary.com/St...mon-mobius.htm
He told me they usually get Strymon stuff a day or two before Strymon sends out the individual ones. So usually people who order from them get theirs a day or two after the people who get in on the first run of the Strymon.com preorder......which is a few weeks before the people not fortunate enough to get on Strymon's list early.
BUT....he told me he's already gotten tracking info on his Mobius shipment from Strymon. I'm thinking, total opinion, that Strymon is trying to get a bunch of pedals out quickly and that they built way more of these before the preorder went out than they did their previous pedals.....but Sanctuary thinks that they'll be able to get these guys out pretty soon and that the Mobius will be released soon. All opinions, though. Nothing official. |

Definitely would benefit from one of these... so you can move it around your signal chain. Otherwise, two locations? Yeah, too much goodness in too little space.
Still, pretty freaking awesome and I would totally buy one if my effects budget was bigger. It would look like pure sex next to a Timeline, which I sold cause I'm a giant weeny when it comes to too many digital features.

| | OK. Now I'm biased. Endorsed Artist: Myco Pedals | | Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: Lake Charles, La | | | So everyone has been PMing me about my thoughts on the Mobius....I figure in order to keep my inbox empty, I'll post my thoughts.....alright, fine. Everyone was asking that I ship my Mobius to Behndy to let him give you his thoughts on it but **** you people. You have to deal with my thoughts.
Overall. The big word for it is SOLID. Let's take the Quadrature and Destroyer out of the equation. You're left with nothing groundbreaking. Just downright solid. Like the Timeline, it's dark, lush, and sounds analog. All of it. The parameters allow you to tweak pretty much everything. Yes, I can get nonwarbly stuff from the chorus. I mean, with all of these parameters and with the tap tempo, you can pretty much do anything. You could put them up against any straight up effect (taking out some of the CRAZY oddball guys) and each setting on the Mobius can go up head to head against that individual pedal and just sound awesome.
I do want to throw in here, I'm not the type of guy that stacks my mods. Those people might not find this guy as useful. I'll put dirt and fuzz with my mods, but for the most part, my mods stand alone.
So yes, it replaces a ton of stuff on my board. Now the big question for me is, will it do the expression stuff I was using the Tremolessence, Faye Sing, and Xero D for? I will be experimenting with this tonight and let you homecanoes, know. I really only made it through half of the presets before three out of five of the babies started crying. But I was able to get the general overall sound of the pedal and I can tell you that each mod holds up as lush, analog, and just downright beautiful.
Now......the Quadrature. That thing is cool and different. It's just a bunch of fun for me, nothing I could utilize, but if I did dub or electronica, this thing would be AWESOME. The Boss GT10B had some things that were similar to this, but it always sounded kinda cheesy where this sounds good.
The Destroyer. Holy ****. I would pay close to $300 for a pedal like this. Maybe there are pedals out there that can do these things.....but man....I've been looking for this for a LOOOOOONG time. I just...want to go into the studio so bad, now. The signal degradation....oooomph.....I just love it. I haven't gotten to mess with it a ton, like I said, three out of five were screaming. But this one mode is going to make so many local band CDs sound so much better.
So for me, I get an amazing setting in the Destroyer, and fun guy the Quad, I've added a lush flanger and chorus I didn't have on my board, the pattern trem, auto swell, and vibes are a'ight, but, most important, I think I've been able to bump my Tremolessence, Faye Sing, Expressionator, and future purchase Xero D off my board.....total savings of almost $300. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
