OK Last Compressor survey... Down to my final TWO choices here... :hyper: A: Aguilar TLC Compressor -OR- B: VFE White Horse Optical Compressor Inputs... advice... direction... comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again! peace! |
I would read Bongo's review of each pedal and see which one comes out better. |
If you don't have anything from FEA Labs on your list tear the list up and start over if you want the very best..... and +1 on my man Chads suggestion. |
I realize that you've done some homework and are asking about two specific pedals, but in a compressor, my advice is go rack-mounted. You get much more than just compression/spike reduction. If you have LEDs for input/output and gain reduction, you can use it to check string to string output to use in conjunction with adjustable pole pickups, for example. This is something I've seen that's overlooked by many players and it's been very useful to me over the years. |
What about the mxr m87?!?!?! |
I agree with the suggestion about going rack mount. You get more control over the parameters for compression. I've used a DBX 266 studio compressor and it works great for me. Research some of the studio compressors that are rack mountable, you be happy you did. |
Diamond Bass Compressor. |
FEA all the way. Great sound and control with 3 models to choose from depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Choice number 2 would be an Empress compressor. |
if i were you, i would look into amps with built in compressors if you haven't already |

I actually DID consider FEA LABS comps... but you can't purchase them anywhere AND they are all "out of stock" from the manufacturer... (which says a lot about the unit I know.... :) ) Thanks everyone! BTW.... Bongo, you rock ! :) |
