I have been dreaming of my ring modulator board: Moog, Lovetone (or, more likely, a clone) and Copilot, for about four years. Well, I can now add this to the list. And what, folks, do we call a chain of four ring modulators? We call them Sec, Jast, Thay and Caan. Well, Caan would have to be the Lovetone, because it is certainly the craziest of the four, the Moog would be Sec (on the basis of it being more agreeable than the others), The Way Huge is Jast (the youngest/newest), leaving the Copilot Android to be compared to Thay. Don't know why; I'll have to do some research.
By the way, this is a Doctor Who reference; in this instance, a reference to the Cult of Skaro, the four coolest Daleks that didn't involve Davros. It has been a dream of mine, ever since I started posting in this forum, to have an all-ring modulator pedalboard, and use this clearly anorak-y reference to describe it.
Anyway, a new ring modulator, and, given the fact that Way Huge pedals ARE sold in Madison, WI, a better review of the Ring Worm might come TalkBass way. I haven't been this excited about a pedal since, well, the day I won my Morley PWB (a day that ended with a very good Primus concert). In contrast to the years of technical training needed to operate my Moog, I find the apparent simplicity of this offering from Way Huge refreshing.

I'm planning on buying my first one and I'm keeping an eye on the moog and the way huge... |

On a happier note, I've had the idea of a Ring mod with expression pedal input for years. I've asked several builders of boutique pedals to do one for me and none so far have agreed to even try. Maybe my idea was passed on? I dunno, but I do know I'm WAAAAAAAAYYYY stoked to get my hands on one of these

On recordings they seem to be atondal but not distonal to my ears. But my guess is to the untrained player, there are lots of opportunities to make your crowdees hairs rise. |

Just sayin... | Ture. Randy's revenge at $325 canadian (which is close to the dollar) is way out of my range for an effect I would probably never use live. Although the copilot's are closer to an acceptable price range, I want to hold off until the Ringworm is out.
The Way Huge has the "Mode" knob I'm curious about. I'm not saying the others are a definite no-go. I'm just going to hold out until I see a Ringworm in action on youtube before I decide.
