Omg. did I kill my pedal (again?)

I got a dod milkbox compressor in pretty good condition recently, and today while trying to a/b it to an optostomp I unplugged the pedals while the amp and 9v adaptor is still on. A pop sound was made when I plugged my milkbox in, no biggy I guess its still working.

Just now when I turned on my compressor at just 9o clock it sounded really squashed. So I turned the knob. BUT no matter how I turned it was still at maximum compression.

I had this used milkbox awhile back aswell, it worked fine for afew days then it died afew weeks later(same condition).

Also, with my BBE optostomp something really wierd happened as well. I tried it one day and it stopped working, no matter how I set the compression setting the signal was unaffected.

So I tried abruptly plugging it out and plugged it in. GUess what, it worked again! Now its in a working condition, and I keep it safe in a box now.

I seriously dig the milkbox and i seriously dont wanna go through the hassle to find another one.

All the pedals on my board have never been faulty, except for the god damn compressors. help
