Looking for advice on what to do with my one rack space left -
Currently have a Carvin B2000 amp, a power conditioner; rack tuner and my wireless in the rack.
One full space left.
What would you do?
I play primarily rock / country / old school R&B and Soul - not using any effects as of now.
Thoughts on an effect unit - or maybe a compressor?
Advice warmly received! |

Always good to have a bit ventilation in your rack.

The OP has potentially 4 things to power and it's already in his rack; why get rid of it? I personally find them to be a convenient and elegant solution, while admitting that they are grossly overpriced and there is a certain amount of voodoo and snake oil in the sales tactics.
I do advocate for ventilation. I keep a space between my Amp and my Preamp and power conditioner (all part of a package deal when I bought the amp from ebay). The gap is occupied with a slotted blank and it keeps the whole thing looking clean. They are easily sourced at Guitar Day Care Center.
EDIT: My comp needs are taken care of by a pedal comp (FEA Labs OptiFET),...but I run a significant pedal board so I like to have the comp at my feet as I try to keep the weight down in the rack as much as possible (even though it still weighs like 60lbs). I power my pedal board off of the rackmount power conditioner.

But seriously, I have a TC Electronic compressor/limiter/gate that I love in my rack. I also keep the power conditioner, not so much for the "conditioning" but for the ease of only having to plug one thing in. I also had a drawer in mine for a while. I liked it for storing cables and stuff, but ditched it for the compressor. Wouldn't mind adding it back in at some point if/when I get a little larger rack.

I have a similar set up to you (no power conditioner but i do have a dbx160A) and I have a Sansamp RPM coming to give me that tube and grit that my Eden doesn't have.
