which one spot adapter for the compulator?

I got the compulator and it looks like it takes a male adapter but I wasn't sure if it needed reverse polarity or not

No, it's standard polarity- it does need the 1/8" adapter though.

it looks like the only 1/8" adapter for the one spot is positive. will it work with the demeter?

Ack- my mistake. While you do need the 1/8" adapter, it is tip positive, which is also what the Demeter takes- http://www.demeteramps.com/products/pedals/comp1.html
I know the adapter works as I've used it to power the Compulators I've owned in the past.
