openhaus w/bass, feedback please

I'm very interested in hearing feedback from those who have used openhaus w/bass.

To the best of my knowledge, I've not built one for a bass player, but I think a few have made it to the deep side via the used market.

Feedback should be negative, and that's perfect, because openhaus is not designed for bass, but my hope is to hear thoughts/suggestions/ideas that will allow me to refine the tuning/features of my bass distortion pedal prior to it's release.

Over the last several months I have had emails from players who hang their hats here. I have those emails saved, but now I'd like to hear specifically from those who actually have tried to use openhaus with bass.

So that I may save data easily I'd prefer to be contacted directly, but I'm willing to spend time here discussing anything that is of interest to bass players.

Thanks, Ed Rembold

Hi Ed,

I believe one of the moderators of this forum - grygrx here on TB - has an Openhaus. I'm pretty sure he's even made clips of it. If he still has it I'd expect to eventually see a video review of it on his site bassfuzz.com.

On another note, if you'd like feedback from a bassplayer on the Halophaze feel free to send me one to try out.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

I sent you an e-mail and I can answer any questions you want. I've had the chance to spend a bit of time with it on bass. I think it's very usable if you are willing to understand that cranking the bass knob will be necessary. I didn't really like the sound with my active basses too much, as it seemed to be a little flat and lifeless regardless of the settings.

It sounded great with my passive P bass though, good solid lows (again with bass cranked) and all the massive tone sculpting that you get out of it as a guitar pedal.
