Is this really your setup? You play thousands of dollars in boutique pedals through those amps?

If so, my advice is to sell some fuzzes and buy a nicer amplifier. You might even find you don't need many of those effects.

I agree w/ uaudio except that I would say to toss a bass up for sale, too.
That'll help you get to an independent head and cab.
You already have the LS-2, so you blend your clean. and keep your lows/low mids intact for the bass-sucking/mid-scooping fuzzes.

thanks for the amp recc but i live in an apartment so cant do fancy amps till i get a house! in regards to the basses i have been thinking of getting rid of the tom araya for a fender precision with maple fretboard. ebennetts: the bogdan loop is awesome possum its just POLISH GOODNESS!

I guess I would ask "What's the point?". Are you just trying to have fun with that set up? Its definitely not practical in any way, but that may not matter if you're just playing for fun.

I count 9 different dirt pedals. Even in an original band where you use dirt on every song I can't see needing 9 different pedals. 3 or 4 is probably more than enough.

It certainly looks like fun, and if fun is all its about then kudos to you. But I would not recommend showing up for an audition with that board.

+1 to all the above, and getting a better amp doesn't mean you have to play louder. Just sound better. The BA112 is an alright practice amp, but overall, it's tone is lacking. I agree with everyone else, you've got some great fx pedals, treat yourself to a decent bass amp.

the general consensus seems to get a better amp so I guess that will be what i get if i trade in both amps and the tommy araya or hopefully just sell it. as far as the effect pedals they are for fun. i dont play to ever gig but just because I just love the sound of the damn thing in all its forms. I love music in general but the bass guitar is my fav sound. thanks everyone!

im not sure if this question belongs in the amp section but i'll ask anyway. what amp is not too big maybe 150-200 watt should be fine and has a nice punchy tone with the Geddy Lee and an expressive side with the fretless?

Mesa Walkabout Scout 12 is an awesome amp, but a bit pricey. The tone is to die for, and it's got balls to boot. If you ever jam with friends, the "head" is removeable, for use with a bigger speaker cab. (imo) the best 12" combo amp ever made.

Wait, so it was the Fender and Ampeg combos everyone was originally complaining about?

Either way, just throwin this out there, I HATE Acoustic. I've been using one at school for a while, cannot stand it. Get yourself a Markbass Little Mark 250 or something.

I would've gone w/ Markbass over new (not vintage) Acoustic, too.

I owned Hartke when I started out...I felt like it was okay, but compared to the Ampeg SVT and HLF stuff, it was blah.

So did you sell your Araya bass on here or did you trade it in?
