Opinions on pedal lineup and volume control

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, first off this is what I have-
MXR Fuzz
Line 6 Echo Park
EBS Unichorus
Markbass Supersynth

What are you thinking about best line up for pedals
2nd, I haven't yet but will be adding a volume control.
Which one I don't know yet as placement in line also seems to be a issue.
I believe it should come in after synth as they seem to need the strongest unaltered signal.
I noticed Boss has different volume pedal's for different point in the lineup. Don't know if that really makes a difference.
Also, I generally use active basses.
Thanks for all thoughts and opinions in advance.
BTW I had used pedals sometime ago, went to floorboards multi effects and have come full circle, What a change and assortment of choices.

Synth > Fuzz > Chorus > Volume > Delay

Possibly swap Synth/Fuzz

I'd order them:
Markbass Supersynth
MXR Fuzz
EBS Unichorus
Line 6 Echo Park

as far as the volume pedal, I'd highly suggest getting an Ernie Ball Volume Pedal Jr 25k "active" (model 6181) to use for volume if you use active basses. The thing is built like a tank, and doesn't give you a weird taper if you use it at the front of the chain (as long as you don't use the tuner out jack, the signal coloration is minimal at best), or even better if you used it at the very end of the chain for volume swell effects without having to ride the volume knob on your bass (you can use the bass volume knob instead to change the way different pedals react to a louder/quieter bass signal, such as with the fuzz).

Personally, I use my EBVP Jr (same one as I've suggested) at the end of my signal chain for volume swelling, and also to give me a mute at the end of the chain so that I can leave on fuzz or overdrive pedals in between sets and not worry about the extra noise that they bring.
