Unhappy OptoStomp farting on me

Sign in to disble this ad
Today I turned on my trusty optostomp and it gave me a pretty bad problem. Every time I would hit a note hard it would distort in a really bad sounding manner that made slapping pretty much impossible. This has never happened to me before and I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Possible solutions? Thanks for the help in advance.

How are you powering it?

Daisy chain. Running a one-spot. Also, if it means anything I keep a battery in it, even though the battery is dead.

I'd say try pulling out the dead battery (not that it should matter, but you never know), and try powering it with either a different wall wart, or a fresh battery, and see if that fixes it.
