Hey all,
I'm building a new pedal board and I'm looking at fuzz boxes. Right now, it's between the CoPilot Orbit and the Iron Ether Oxide.
Based on the John Davis Youtube review of the Orbit, I'm REALLY digging that staccato, gated sound the Orbit gets for faster passages.
The Oxide is very attractive since I'm reading that it can get lots of different tones, which I like (and damn it, that is one sexy looking pedal!).
So, will the Oxide get me that Orbit sound? Should I just give in and get both? Am I wasting money by getting both? Obviously, I need some guidance...
Thanks in advance |

I could do without the spaceship and lazer stuff, and wonder if there's a pedal out there with just the great fuzz capabilities of the Orbit.
PS: Brian Tyler's demo video is really good too. |

The list is a great idea though. And I did just listen to a clip of the Oxide. I love it! |

this might just be IME, but i've had bad luck with the 3 or 4 FxOrbit's i've had. a switch or a knob failure, had one just quit. which is weird, because looking inside theh seem cleanly and professionally built. and Taylor's close if something were to go wrong with an IE pedal. i believe (i forget his name) the FxOrbit guys is in Polland? |

It's not an ordinary fuzz... it's got things going on inside that adds dimensionality and does things to other pedals (like filters and phasers) that really opens them up and makes them sound really good.

If I'm still wanting those sounds from the JD Tonefactor video, I may just pick up an Orbit to fulfill my fuzz/ringmod jones.
Now, would Taylor make my Oxide the same color as Behndy's custom Xero?....That would be cool!
Thanks! |

yeah. he's (i'm kinda in the same camp as Dean'r, i'm a HUGE fan of the mans work. with the orange'ish finish he did on my Xero i just said a couple lines like, "a kinda orange, maybe a bit rusty?" and he did EXACTLY WHAT WAS IN MY HEAD.
he's the man. |
