Outboard pre suggestions

Could you recommend for me a small size outboard, pedal preamp with EQ for my 74' Jazz Bass? I don't like fuzzy sound. I'm a purist, I like crystal clean, natural, modern sound without any distortion or noise. I love the sound of my bass, I just need to add a little gain and a little more bottom to it.

I have a '74 with a Sadowsky pre inside it. The outboard pre is no different ( other than the D.I) and its a great sounding unit. The Barber Linden is also a great outboard pre with fantastic EQ.

There are many options, but the Sadowsky is one of the best for what you describe- gain, boosted lows, clean modern tone.

And what do you think about the Xotic Tri-logic Preamp and the Demeter BEQ-PB EQ Preamp?
