Question overdrive distortion on fretless

Sign in to disble this ad
hi, i been using an boss odb-3 for distortion for a couple of years,i started to use fretless basses a few months ago, but i noticed that everytime i use the distortion, the bass loses his "fretless sustain",sounds like a fretted bass. so my question here is: how can i use my distortion on fretless without loosing the sustain? any equalization recomended? or any other effect that i must add? i use both flatwounds and roundwounds strings. hope you guys can help me out on this, iŽll really apreciate it. thanx (this is the e.q that i use)

Try setting the highs to 10:00 and the gain at 11:00. also set the balance control at 12:00.

As long as your boss obd-3 doesn't clip your amp, it should be okay.
