| | | | Overdrive pedal that keeps the lowend I've been using the Boss ODB-3. It has decent sound, nothing mindblowing but good. Problem I'm having is everytime I engage it I'm told the bass sounds thin with it. I dont notice any difference onstage, but apparently coming through the pa I lose some bottom end.
Any clues on why this might be and how to solve it...Also, what are some good overdrive pedals that wont lose the low end?
Thanks,

| | | | Hardwire CM-2 Tube Overdrive, incredible pedal, is like a moded bad monkey, lots of low end and cheap!
Altough I never lost low end when I had the ODB-3, I never used as a distortion, just for a sweet and LOOOW overdrive (the secret of that pedal is the BLEND knob, never too much):
try this setting:
Level: 10(or depending your clean signal)
Bass: all the way up or 4 pm Trebble: 130pm
Blend: 9pm
Gain: 930 or 10pm
I love my hardwire but i do miss the ODB-3, it worked really well for me

| | | | Admittedly this isn't a category I know a ton about, but if you're talking about through a pa, could you send a clean and dirty signal and have them mixed? A sansamp would have that capability... |

| | | | I just modded a bad monkey and it sounds surprisingly good, so good that I want to keep it. I'm about to make a blueberry od, tuned big muff with mids control and a loop blender. Ill let you know how it goes! |

Can't locate the post, unfortunately. As for me, been using a Digitech BassDriver lately. It's quite a flexible pedal, doing anything to low stuff to all-out fuzz. It cops ODB-3, ProCo Rat and others. Admittedly far from the best dirt pedal out there, but a fun and versatile pedal nonetheless.

This blend pedal will allow you to use ANY pedal out there and not lose a drop of low end. Very EASY to operate. |

1) Get a pedal with clean blend but also prepare yourself for the fact that clean blend isn't a tool to retain low end in overdrive. It's a tool to retain your original signal along with overdrive. Sounds obvious to suggest but i learned that it wasnt the sound in my head. Most people like that tone. I'm not really a fan.
2) Get an EBS Valvedrive. It creates a huge overdrive tone and sounds more like you have changed to a different amp and cab. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
