P-Bass + Sansamp vt bas v2
Good morning friends, my current team is: Gk 400 rb, 4x10 box with speakers eminence (Wenstone), P-Bass hand stained , tuner , SansAmp b3k Darkglass and VT bass v2.
I need help to get the tone of the old school , and also the closest to a SVT.
I have seen post related to this, but even I have many doubts, of course thank you very much, Martin.
If your 410 has a tweeter, turn it off. You can also try: Bass -> VT -> Effects loop return in the RB.
Thanks, put the vt bass in the effects loop with good results still can not get this close to the sounds of an SVT ....... any other suggestions regarding this pedal settings? Thank you!
I struggle with the VT and GK700RB too
Not "in the loop." Try Plugging your bass into the VT, then the VT into the effects loop return. This bypasses the GK preamp so you are only using the power section of your amp.
For settings, I always liked mids 10 oclock, treble 9 oclock, bass near noon - adjusted to suit the room, and character 2 oclock. Level and drive to taste. This will give more drive on the top end, and leave the bass and low-mids a bit cleaner.
VT is a great pedal, I sold mine last xmas, and now looking for another.
Good morning, at this time I changed the strings round by flat ....... and since then the VT Bass has not worked for me .... any ideas or suggestions?
Which SVT sound arwe you trying to get? There is more than one and they are different for everybody.
Hello how are you, I wish I could get the tone closer to an SVT VR if possible, I have seen and tried some suggestions, but with changing strings, everything was more complicated....
Those amps are capable of many tones.
It's all in there. You have the tools to get 1000's of great tones. Also what works for you in your bedroom might not work in a basement/club/bar/out doors/ etc.
The key is to know specifically what you want to sound like and then have the tools to get that sound in any environment.
Do you have a band/song/album/player that your're trying to emulate?
I'll give you an example. I'm trying to sound like Rex Brown or Duff McKagan. I know they use Ampeg and/or GK rigs and I know they use lots of great gear and studio equipment that I could never afford. I was however able to cop the tone with a tubescreamer and a BDDI. So whether I'm using my Hartke rig or the house SVT rig I know I can get the sound I like with the tools that I have.
Thanks, I should be more specific about the sound.
I have a head Gallien Krueger 400 rb, I'm in a band that plays covers national (Argentina) rock and blues.
I have read based on sound forum old school ..... but I need something more, more modern sound / aggressive, manner of speaking, a good example you gave with Duff McKagan.
Also some weekends we are in a rehearsal room, and the team is not the same ....... in that room are a combo of low domestic brand ...... is that the sound varies with respect to which I can get with my team.
I hope you understand something, my English is not good, again thanks for your help!
My favorite setting for the VT Bass V2 is the fliptop setting in the manual with the speaker sim off, start there & tweek to taste. Plug it straight into the effects return as others have said.
Here my settings and pedalboard. :) Great sound, thanks for all Attachment 373422
