MI effects. looks promising feature-wise. of course it was only demoed on guitar, but it has attack and release times as well as a gate (i think they are finally realizing that some musicians are gear nerds and KNOW wth they are talking about ). http://www.mieffects.com/CP.htm

I assume that's the one that they've labelled "Sustain"...
Yes; I'm pedantic but FOR ****'S SAKE WHY CAN'T MANUFACTURERS CALL THE FREAKIN' THRESHOLD CONTROL "THRESHOLD"!!!!!!

hell.. boss calls it a compression sustainer.. apparently thats what they want us to think compressors do.

But yeah, if I can learn what the knobs on a compressor do pretty much any guitard should be able to. |

| | | | i don't know why people think they need more sustain. how long are they holding a note anyway |

| | | | Er... I understand not wanting something for oneself which another might find useful, but it's a complete failure of imagination to completely rule out someone else wanting something different from one's own desires. Just because this is TalkBass doesn't mean that everything has to be built to the lowest common denominator. *chuckle*
Thank goodness most effect builders are able to go that extra distance and put themselves in other people's shoes. That's why there vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and other ice cream flavors, and the equivalent in pedals as well.

The longest held note I remember was the incredibly effective note from Danny Gatton's take on "Melancholy Serenade," which went from a half step below to the eventual goal with vibrato, and lasted about 9 seconds. I know some may feel that has no value, but it was worth buying the CD for me. |
