The pain of the wait (Lexicon Vortex content)...

Sign in to disble this ad
So yeah. I ordered a Lexicon Vortex offa the bay 2 weeks ago. Sent out my payment same day to some guy in CA (I live in Jersey). I've been waiting two weeks, the dood said he received it this friday.

I NEED this thing. Polyrythymic delays, effect discriptions that confuse me utterly, delay, modulation, entire atmospheres contained in a box...delay.

Hopefully it's all I dreamed it would be (If not I will be upset)

Anyone had any experience with these?

I'll give a review when I receive it...Maybe throw up some clips.

a guitar player that I jammed with had one and he let me use it--super cool little unit, it had two effects per patch, and you could fade from one to the other--the effects were pretty steller, but the only setback I found were the parameters--not enough for me I think I like the TC electronics D2 a tad better, but this unit is superb for the price.

I have one, but Dirk Diggler has tonnes more experience with 'em. What do you need to know exactly?

Yes I love mine and couldn't live without it! If you're looking for mainstream stuff the box will let you down. Hey any device that has a sound called "Bleen" has to be out there. I use mine on basses, warrguitar, guitars and keys. Think of it as a spacial device that can make you dizzy in headphones.

Oh yes you do need the pedals to do it right, an EV-5 for morph, the Lexicon dual pedal for patch number and bypass, and another pedal for tap tempo. Well at least that's what I use.

Anything you need to know I'd be happy to share.

Hey Charlie!

man, now you got me GASin' for another Vortex.. i borrowed one on long-term loan for years from a friend, but gave it back a few years ago.. now i just gotta convince him that he doesn't need it sitting in storage and to sell it to me. also, the Bleen effect rocks!

The last time I checked they are practically giving them away on the Bay. I mean under the $150 mark or better. You know I've thought of buying one for a backup, but the device has never let me down, solid as a rock for years, not like my old Eventide H3000. LOL
By the way I don't think GAS counts in this at all, does anyone even count GAS in that price range?

Dirk

Still not here

Can't wait to mess with it...

The effect discriptions are really what turned me on to it, and I heard you can get mellotron-esque sounds (somehow)

I have one sitting around not getting used. I need pedals for it; I never got around to picking them up. I think I paid $60 for just the unit, no pedals, manual, or power supply.

After waiting 3 weeks a package arrives.

...It's not a vortex but an MPX-100. Apparently this person can read.

Now I have to send it back, get my moneys and go bid some'ore.

Damn.
