Papa Roach effects

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all. Sorry if this has been asked before, Just signed up did a quick manual search, saw nothing.

Does anyone know what effects/equipment Papa Roach use, more notable in the songs, Getting Away with Murder and Lifeline

I'm wanting to replicate the sound but don't know how to start!

I have seen his board somewhere only things that stuck out to me are Prescription Electronics Depth Charge fuzz pedal and a Whammy 4

Then it's loads of different Lakland basses into I thing SVT CL's

For as much stick as Papa Roach get coming from that whole rap rock thing, they are one of my favourite bands of all time.

You can see it here http://www.flickr.com/photos/shaddix/4131558809/ all I can see is a white Crybaby Bass Wah

Getting Away with Murder sounds like a fuzz with a clean blend, and I have heard that he uses the Depth Charge on here before

I stumbled across a "close" effect earlier. I turned my amp's mode (line 6) to "grunge" and played one of my "treble y" effects (sounds alot like the end of angels and insects). IT was close, but it lacks something - perhaps the blend you mentioned. The big muff has a blend mode but the BM's sound just isn't right for that song.

My mate thinks there's a "reverb coil" in play, or some form of subtle delay or reverb in the chain before the effect.

Get new strings, play with pick and use maybe some fuzz or overdrive. Can't say more accurately...

Hmm I do plan to get new strings soon. I will have to resist the urge to edit all my effects though (as the sound completely chagnes with new strings). I generally prefer the strings worn in, they sound warmer.
