Hey all, I just got a big muff and want to run a patch between it and my tuner pedal... well I ran into a problem.... Only the 1st pedal in the line will work unless I use full length cables instead of the patch. I looked at the difference in the jacks and the patch cables I got have an extra black ring on them. Does this prevent the pedals from working?

If I step on the 2nd pedal in the line the signal stops like the pedal is trying to work, but the LED never comes on.

And I don't want to use 50 feet of cables (a 10 between the 2 pedals, a 10 to the amp and a 30 to my bass) with a passive bass haha.

Here's a pic of the patch (right) and full length (left)

EDIT: I looked at the pictures on MF and they only show one black ring in those pics....

Yes, most pedals rely on the solid 'body' of the jack (as the black one) to connect the power when they are plugged in. The red cable is a stereo one so will not necessarily provide the connection. It all depends what the other end is plugged in to.

you have the wrong cable, that red cable is a TRS (stereo) cable.... look for one with a single black line.
