Sounds like his Mu-Tron.

I will have one, one day. I'm too squeamish to kill someone for one though, and too poor to hire a professional to do it.

filter in down mode. you can probably cop that specific tone with most filter (mutron, qtron, meatball).

the original tone from nick fyffe was a meatball. love that tone. i really loved nick, his use of effects was really cool. very great user of filters and distortion. if you can, check out live in verona and live at montreux. he has some really killer solos and awesome uses of filter and fuzz.

Speaking of Jamiroquai, anyone know if the bassline on Supersonic a bass or a synth? Sounds synthy, and also has some crazy vibrato on it.

haha, i've always wondered the same thing. i can do it with a fretted bass, just really pulling hard for those vibratos (with my left hand). just not sure if it's that, a fretless, or just synth.

Didn't sound like my old Akai Deep Impact. I'd have to say it's the Mutron in the down mode. Good luck!
