Pedal Board config - Get 1 Large or 2 Small?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, finally going to get myself pedal board(s) and power supply....I am having a heck of time on deciding if i want to do one large board or 2 smaller boards. Got my eye on either pedal train 2 or 2 Jr's. Also going to get voodoo labs pp2...

I have about enough tone/eq/compressor pedals to fill up one Jr as it is. I play a pretty equal amount of finger style and slap - I'm just about to order myself one of the clean/dirty loopmaster boxes, so i can switch between slap/finger with one stomp. My loopmaster will have 2 additional loops for adding in other effects like autofilters, phaser, BMS, verb, ect.

So im trying to decide if i want to get a pedaltrain 2 which should pretty much fit all of current pedals and gear lust as well, or get 2 juniors and have all of my regular tone pedals on one and my various effects on the others, and connect the 2nd board with the loops on the loopmaster. 2 jr's will cost more, but each will have its own power and thus each pedal will have its own power outlet...2jr's leaves a little more room for expansion. I wonder if it would be easier to move around 2 jr's or 1 pt2, and how well daisy chaining power off of a voodo labs 2 will work...

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

It's hard to tell from your post, but if it's a situation where you'll be able to leave one JR at home most of the time, and the other one will have the stuff you really need for gigs, I would go with the two PT Jrs. If you think you'll actually be bringing everything out most of the time, I would just go with the PT2 as it's a lot less of a PITA with power and connecting more cables at the gig. That's just me though.

If you set yourself up to have this as a 2 board system you will be glad that you did - if you have different uses and like to travel as light as can be then it works.

if you always only use all that you can...

...go for one big board.

I have a feeling you're getting 2.
