Which pedal board for me?

Sign in to disble this ad
I think I'm going to need a pedal board soon. I've been using pedals with my band for a while now and we're about to start playing out.

I am using a total of 5 Boss / Behringer pedals (all the same size - tuner, overdrive, chorus, boost 1, boost 2)

I'm really not an effects junky at all, so at this point I can't see adding more than 1 or maybe 2 pedals in the future. The truth is, the 5 will probably be all that I even need on my board.

I currently power them all with the TU2 and a 'daisy chain' wire. That works great and I don't know why that wouldn't continue to work just fine on a board. I just run them in a chain and don't use any stereo amps or effects, so I don't need a board that allows any fancy effects loop options. Something nice and simple.

So far, I've spotted the Boss CB-60 and the Gator Gig Box Junior and they both look like possible options, but I thought I'd come to the experts and ask for recommendations. So, please, recommend away!

I highly recommend, if you have the money, the Pedaltrain Jr., with a flight case. It will perfectly fit all of your pedals and keep them safe wherever you go forever. I use one and couldn't be more satisfied with it.

+1 on the Pedaltrain. I've got a Jr. and a Pro...I couldn't be happier with my boards.

Thank guys. I just checked it out online, and the Pedaltrain Jr. with flight case looks like a great option.

Can anybody tell me how many (regular Boss sized) pedals the Pedaltrain Jr. will hold?
(the photos online have some big effects units mounted on it)
It looks to me like it would probably hold about 8 of the smaller pedals. Am I right or at least close?

Anybody else have any suggestions on which board? I'll only be playing locally, but I like the idea of something sturdy that will hold up, even though I'll never go out on tour with it.

The Pedaltrain Jr. can easily hold 8 Boss-sized pedals, even after you've wired everything up. Beyond that, you're pushing its limits. It's a 17" x 12.5" board.

What I love about my Pedaltrain Jr. (and my old Pedaltrain 2) is the railing system and aluminum frame. It allows for clean wiring and a very lightweight board. It's a solid investment no matter what.

As an alternative, look into the Gator Pedal Tote. It's 16.5" x 12", and will comfortably hold 6 Boss pedals (maybe 8, but I'm not sure how it'll be after you've wired the first 6). It's a flat, angled board - nothing fancy or clever like the Pedaltrain, but it's cheap and durable. A version with a power supply brick also exists.

I got my Pedaltrain Jr w/ hard case from the big brown truck yesterday, and I set it up last night, and I have to say - I love it!

One of the best purchases I've made in a long time.
I can see already how this is going to lead to getting more use out of the pedals I do have, and it may even lead to a new pedal or two on down the road (I'm thinking Saturday) Thanks SO much you guys!

I would recommend the furman pedal board, it might be a little big but that always gives room for more pedals, especially in the future, pedal board space is valuable real estate. Its a great board has good clean power, plus you can plug your amp into it for clean power. Its a little heavy but still can be carried with one hand.

Edit:
sorry didn't read the whole post...congrats on your new board
