Pedal chain order?

Sign in to disble this ad
For a couple of month i mostly play with a certain pedal chain which is based on guitarists advices and also guides over the net,generally this one:
http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~gmarts/fx-order.htm

This is the chain order i got right now:

Stanley Clarke Wah-> Agent 00Funk Mark II -> MultiComp - >
OctaBass -> B:AssMaster-> BassBoar-> MultiDrive-> Bass Chorus-> TremoLo-> Ekko 600D

I want to know if there are any alternatives that might sound better?

Thanks in advance,
Gil.

No rules, just expiriment. I like dirt before filters/phasers, and compression up front. Chorus and delay at the very end. Just move stuff around, try everything. When you like how they work together, you got it right. Btw, you have some nice stuff there.

Nice board.

I like having Octaves as the very first thing in the chain. They track better when stacked that way. Then I put Dist/Fuzz. I have used Distortion after filters, but not too often. The next I would put is Wah, then envelope filter. then Modulation, in any order that sounds good. I like having delays at the end, though I have often thought of putting Sound On Sound and other looping devices at both the beginning and end of the chain for maximum manipulation.

Personally I like compression very near the beginning of the board, or usually first... beyond that it just depends on the pedals that are following.

I'd probably have the wah last, so I could wah everything, echo repeats and all.

Me too. Compression and dirt first, the filters, etc. then wah last so I can wah whatever I want.
