Pedal That Controls Attack For Swelling Notes?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,

I've got my synthy bass sound pretty much covered, but I want control over the attack so I can swell in notes.

I know the Micro-synth does it, but that would be redundant. Not only do I have fuzz and octave covered, but I have a square wave generator as well.

Can anyone suggest some pedals to look at? I'd prefer to spend around $100 or less if possible.

Thanks.

boss slow gear, the behringer clone, the BYOC clone, and its built into various multieffects processors.

or you can do it manually with a volume pedal

Guyatone has the Slow Volume, which I have owned and works really well-they also have a new version out as part of their "Mighty Micro" series that has a lot of extra bells and whistles:

I thought about that, but I definitely don't want to do it manually.

IME these Slow Gear type pedals work better with some pickups than they do with others. It may be an active vs passive thing or higher vs lower output. They also work worse on lower frequencies. A regular volume pedal or knob is much more expressive though not as fast.

Boss CS-1 will do what you're after.

I used to used the swell function on my Line 6 DL4. That's probably a little out of your price range, but the same feature is included in the Line 6 Echo Park that can be had used for $100 or less.

While we're offering suggestions the thread starter doesn't want: Octavius Squeezer does it too.

Just when my GAS was dying down...you had to go and tell me about this. I have the SV-2, but it's obviously time for an upgrade.

Which is the better sounding pedal for bass, a BYOC Slow Gear clone or a Guyatone Slow Volume (either version)? Anyone have experience with the two?

OMG really guys? A VOLUME PEDAL is the correct answer here!!!! Most of the Ernie Balls ones can be found used for less than $100.
