they must use a keyboard for this bass but it sounds phat and phuzzy and I wanna get that sound! can you recommend any pedals/effects that could replicate it?

they have another song I wanna play (mainly cos of the sweet cowbell) where the bassist is actually using a bass and the fuzz is a bit looser, which pedal could I use to get that sound too:

the sound quality is pretty poor, but you should get the idea or you might even already know the music.

Not cheap, but I can nail the bass in the first video with an OC-2+moog freqbox+lowpass filter, and get close with an Octavius Squeezer (though with tweaking could probably nail it with the OS too). It will cost you about the same whether you use a keyboard or not, but it can definitely be done with a bass guitar those pedals.
