Pedal Doctor problems

Sign in to disble this ad
Just wanted to relay a story I had about Tim Creek at www.pedaldoctor.com so it doesn't happen to you.

A few months back, I wrote to see if he could repair an Ibanez AF-9 I had that was broken. He tells me sure he can, gives me an address to send it, and tells me to let him know when I send it so he can expect it. I do all that.

3 months goes by...nothing. I send him an email about it...no reply. I decided to email him again a couple days ago and see what's going on with my pedal. As of today I still haven't gotten a reply.

So one of three things have happened...he didn't get my pedal as planned, or he got it and lost it and doesn't want to tell me, or he's keeping it. Either way, I find the total lack of communication appalling, and though I'm not big on trashing people I do business with without giving them a chance to make good, how long am I supposed to wait for a simple reply?

So I don't know about you guys, but based on my experience, do business with www.pedaldoctor.com at your own risk.

I don't know how old the message is but, they posted on the site that they are moving and will soon be back up to full production.

"PedalDoctor FX Has Moved!!
Because we outgrew our present location,
PedalDoctor FX has moved to a new 1700sq
foot location! Soon we will be back to full
production with some new additions to our
line. Meanwhile we're still shipping our
present line as well as listing new, used and
consigned items for sale."

That is a very old message. And besides, that has nothing to do with me. I want my pedal back so I can send it to someone who won't rip me off and ignore my emails.

Not to take away from your experience (how hard is it to send you a simple email?), but, it says they recently moved their facility. Maybe it got packed away/lost during the shuffle? Not an excuse and they could at least email you back.

Edit: ahhh so its an old message. Yes that blows. At least email you back.

Maybe I'm missing something, but are you the guy there isn't named Tim Creek and not Tim Craig. There was a quote on one of the pages by Creek.

Also, have you called the number?

You should post this warning in the For Sale/Trade area EVERY site that caters to effect buyers/traders like Harmony Central and The Gear Page to name a few. The more posts you make the more likely it will come up when people Google him.

By any chance was the package insured? Have delivery conformation so you know it actually arrived there?

I thought it was Craig, but if it is Creek, I apologize to Tim Craig They're both from Franklin, TN, though, so if it was a mistake, it was an honest mistake.

EDIT: Sorry, Mr. Craig, it IS Creek. I shall change my original post.

I'd get delivery confirmation if I were mailing a number two pencil to Jesus.

...there isn't a number offered on their web site, but tracking down a phone number is definitely the way to go though. Screw e-mail.
Good Luck.

You know what? The guy answered his email promptly when I asked him about it, so I know he's getting my emails. And to be honest, it's not something I'm going to be brokenhearted to never see again. So I may track his number down, but I know he's getting his emails.

ahh, yes that is revealing. Shame. (I'd still get him on the phone somehow, but that's me).

I had problems with the same guy a few years ago. Sent him an Ibanez DE7 to true bypass. Took forever, long waits for replies to emails, tons of excuses, finally got a non-functioning pedal. I posted about it on HCFX.

Some folks don't change.

Don't let this go. Others will get ripped off. Make sure to post your experience all over the place. Takes 5 minutes.

I just stopped by the good doctor's place last weekend and you may want to call him at the new shop. (615) 794-5875 They're just now getting everything geared up to open late this month and the email thing is still a bit glitchy. However, I know that if you call him you'll get an answer right away. Some of you may be confusing him with the FX Doctor, he's a flake and I've had numerous problems with him but Tim, aka "the Pedal Doctor" is a far cry different, call him and I'm sure he'll sort it out. He's probably the most honest one out there.

I'm not confusing him with the FX Doctor. Regardless of whether he's up and running or not, he should have had my pedal done months ago. He's got all my contact info. It's all still good. He should have gotten in touch with me long ago. That's crap business practices.

Thanks Mike. I thought I was over it, but this thread has got me pissed again. I'm not going to let it ruin my day, but still...OTOH, it was broken and now it's gone, so with postage it's similar to paying someone $5 to throw away your trash
