pedal or effect to push tubes?

I have an svt classic that I am running through an 810 enclosure, but I am having a problem getting the tone that I want without having the master volume almost fully cranked.

Is there any type of pedal I can get that would make the tubes sound extra warm without having to crank the volume and keep it around 9 or 10 o clock??

You can push the preamp tubes harder with an o/d or clean boost, but the sound of the poweramp grinding is hard to reproduce.

THD hot plate? i know they use them for guitar, they might have something like that for bass.....check it out!

xotic bass RC booster. not only will it hit your preamp harder, but its "subtle" clipping will add the edge you're looking for

yup. this is where clean amps and VT bass comes into play..
