Pedal Effects Setup

Sign in to disble this ad
K guys, I play in P&W Band, Fender 5stg Passive,4stg Active and a Sterling 4 Active. I want to put an effects board together. I have a few so here we go.....

Boss Limiter enhancer - Boss 7 Bnd EQ - Boss Chorus. I use a Korg Tuner off the mono of the Chorus. Oh yeah the power supply died that was driving all three of these also.

Here's my plan...

~ Volume Pedal - I'd like to add one but I've been reading and looks like a 25k pot volume would work for Active Basses only? I switch out so sometimes I'll play my passive 5stg through this rig. How will the 25k pot volume pedal work with the passive bass?

~ Power Supply - How do most of you guys power your board/Pedals?~

~ Amp Modeling - Was thinking of the VT Bass Deluxe for this task but what would ya recommend?

Power supply - I use warts; a 1Spot and a regulated Fulltone, but all of my pedals are 9V only. The first time I get an 18V or similar is when I go looking for a brick.

Amp modeling - the VT's NAIL most Ampeg tones...is that what you want? I've been sort of curious as to what the Leeds pedal would sound like with my Trace head.

I use the Ernie Ball Passive VP. I play passive basses, but I believe you can use either VP for any bass- active/passive refers to the volume pedal itself. If you wanna be able to get really good swells, get the active- my passive VP does what I need it to but I don't use it for a lot of swells.
Power: Depends on what you're needing. 1Spots work great. I'm OCD about my board and want everything nice and orderly, so I got a PP2+. I love it. A few of my pedals are 9-18v so I can run them at 18.
Amp Modeling- depends on what you're looking for, but the VT or Sansamp will work great for you.
