Pedal to indefinitely hold a note?

Sign in to disble this ad
I had a play around on the EH HOG once upon a time and although the octaves werent really my thing, I did take a liking to the hold note function it has.

Is there any pedal that can simple hold a given note until you press the pedal off again?

I dont want to buy a HOG and only use the hold function, its a huge waste of money (and space on the board!)

Is there anything out there that can do this?

Thanks!

The DD-3 can hold the delayed sound like you describe, but I'm not sure that's exactly what you're looking for.

The only things I can think of is the EHX Cathedral: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AIFtPtuYow although that's a reverb effect, and an E-Bow, but that's not a pedal.

Boss SYB-5 will hold a synthesized note indefinitely.

EHX Cathedral reverb can do infinite reverb.

As you said, the HOG will do it.

Octavius Squeezer can kinda do it but the sustained note often drops flat when your original note stops.

I'm sure there's something I'm missing.

There's a boss multieffect board that does that - I forget the model number. It has a footcontrol that you can use to fade the held note in and out in volume.

The M9 and M13 can be programmed to do this, as well as the EHX Cathedral aforementioned.
