Pedalboard Packing Poll, At The Gig: Out or In the Bag?

Though the thread might be out there, Scully, I did a quick search and didn't find anything so it Bags the Question: Do you take your pedalboard completely out of its gig-bag or just zip and flip, leaving it in the gig-bag at the gig?

This is intended for any pedalboard users that keep their PB in a gig-bag as opposed to a touring/hardshell case; for ex. Pedaltrain Mini/Nano, Warwick Rockbag, home-made board in a computer bag etc.

Zip and flip for 45 min set. Take it out if we're doing more than 1 set.

It doesn't feel the same if I keep it in the bag.
I get more sensation when I take it out.

Tres interessant!

I've always left it in the bag, easier to pack at the end of the night. I confess though, it only holds my preamp, tuner and 1 "fun" pedal – in other words, it doesn't see a lot of stomp action and is tucked away in the corner by my amp, hidden by my DB, and not ever at the front of the "stage".

I'll let the cat out of the bag tonight and see how that goes. It's all in the details, right?

Always out. The ten seconds it takes me to put it back isn't much of a hardship.

Well I tried "whipping it out" last night, but I'll continue to leave it in, in future, in most cases. The audience doesn't get to see it, and I usually have extra cables and crappola piled in with the board. And I'm lazy.

As for keeping the bag clean, it doesn't really get any dirtier, and gets wiped clean regularly, anyways.

Thanks TBers, for all your input, or output as the case may be.

Cheers,
FF
