Near as I could tell it has and E and D bass string and 4 guitar strings. Tuned to what I don't know. That's according to comments on the Youtube vid so take that with a grain of salt.
I'd like to build a Guitar/Bass hybrid. |

You can see it if you look closer in the video.
I'm just amazed by these guys, from song structure to rhythmic patterns, it's awesome.
Can't get Sleep Gets Your Ghost out of my head
Is that a whammy 4 she's using?
And here's the link again for everyone who missed it. Buke and Gass

Their studio records have a fuller more powerful sound than the NPR session. I can't stop listening to +/- and I'll be purchasing Riposte on payday.
Support them please. I agree with what was mentioned in the comments. "Fair to say, my new favorite band". |

Thanks for listening you guys. I don't even know these two but feel like they deserve some recognition for being unique and intoxicating. I seriously cannot stop listening and am spamming these guys everywhere. |

Can't wait to get my hands on some money to buy their CD. Even though, I think I like the NPR live more. Dunno why.

Saw some great youtube clips of the acts. I dug it all.
A Thrice clip re: gear questions, reminds me of this story. Note: this isn't a knock on pedals of course. Only an imbecile would do so in a Pedal appreciation thread.
I went down to a club to hear a buddy. I sat in the back and couldn't see his setup. I could swear he must have had some very cool pedal setup. Distortion, flange chorus etc.. Great sound, great color, sat in the mix great etc etc. His rig? P Bass, flats with an old Ampeg B15.

I picked up Riposte yesterday after listening to some clips because I was blown away.
They even trumped the other 2 albums I picked up yesterday, one of which I had been waiting for over a year.
Awesome style, incredible talent! |

I heard back from Dave Ed. He's going to get a good pic of the board for me and a signal chain diagram to post, so stay tuned. Just so you know, it could be a while...he's now in 3 bands after all: Neurosis, JFC, and Kicker.

I graduated from college with Aron Sanchez. This was in the early 90's when I first started playing bass and we used to get together a lot to to practice together and show each other stuff we were learning. Him mostly showing me ideas since he was more advanced.
I remember him having a really nice Alembic and an even nicer fretless that he had built himself. He's an incredible fabricator, went on to play for and ultimately design and build instruments for the Blue Man Group. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Also, Brian Chippendale from Lightning Bolt was a year under Aron and I in school and I used to love playing with him, what a drummer! A lot of amazing musicians came out of our college at that time it seems.
