See how that sounds. I'd just dick around with it from there and see how close you can get. Experimentation is half the fun. He uses or used Gauss 15" speakers in an old Marshall cab and a few other configs so thats the setting I'd use..(15" cab or 2-15). Actually I see a setting in there for a 4x15 marshall major cab. That could do the trick. Quote:

Here is a cool vid with some good looks at the bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRfbnrXzLgs
It's all relative though. I can't imagine how infuriating it would be for Talkbass to keep up with which bass I play and when...haha.

| | | Today my new DB-533 Semi-hollow arrived! I'm a big fan of Peter Hook and was able to recreate his sound on my Jazz bass pretty accurately with my current rig. The Dillion definitely is going to take it to another level.
So far I'm happy with the sound and feel but I'm definitely going to put some heavier strings on it. I had to add a line booster to get bump up the signal/gain. Some tweaking of the EQ is also in order for the new guitar. All in all I'm very pleased. I'll let you know how it goes. |

| | | Heavier strings did the trick (60, 65, 85, 105) as did tweaking the EQ a little. I also eliminated the Boss Bass OD from the loop. My effects are now:
Bass > EHX LPB-1 > Vintage Clone Theory > Amp
Effects Loop: > Boss NS-2 > Boss D-1 >
I'm now looking to get a little more definition out of the overdrive. Any suggestions? |

| | | | Go figure. I was able to get the definition/tone I was looking for by actually dialing back the drive on the OD-1. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
