Phaser vs wah, what's the difference

Besides the wah you control with your foot. Is there a difference? I feel my minds about to be blown.

A better question would be what they have in common? Both are filters, technically speaking, but with different execution and purpose.

A wah is a foot swept filter, typically band pass but occasionally low pass. A phaser shifts the phase of the entire signal and mixes it with the dry sound to create notches at certain frequencies.
