Phasers (EBS, Red Witch, Empress)

I was thinking about what kind of phaser to add to my pedal collection in the future and I concluded that I rather not get a Boss or an MXR. Something about boutique phasers excites me so I want your opinions on the following:

- EBS DPhaser
- Red Witch Deluxe Moon Phaser
- Empress Phaser

If anyone has any soundclips or experience with these pedals I'd like to hear your answers, thanks.

i like the old Ross Phaser, which the Red Witch sounds very similar to (other than that trem thing it has). That might not be expensive enough for you though.

The old Mutron Bi-Phase might work for you if you track one down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZoaI5M7Mp4

Other than those smartass responses, the one time I played on an EBS Phaser it blew be away. Mega badass. It didn't frump out on low and fat notes.

I have the EBS DPhaser and like it. I've never tried the other ones.

I have an Empress which has an amazing array of features that I never use.

If I could only have one effect, it'd be a phaser. I have no experience with the three that you mentioned (although the Empress looks great), I go back and forth between two.

Either the Maxon PT999 (one knob and every setting sounds musical) or the Eventide ModFactor (ten different parameters and you need to spend a couple of hours with the manual).
