for me I use an SVT CL head-Emperor 6x12-fender MIA P-basses.

Is that good enough evidence? |

:P
...if it wasnt for my Colorsound Bass Fuzz, i might seriously GAS for a Musket.

to vote or not to vote?
ok, biased vote - PPB (great fuzz everything, vast range of tones + superb onboard blend). i vote this one because out of twenty or so great fuzzes i have, it's one of four which are currently rocking my board(s). |

I for one love my Pickle Pie. Amazing tones to be had all around, and the blend is incredibly useful. |

I don't need a B:assmaster or ehx green muff those are really big and I'm trying to save pedal space. currently I'm using a ehx lbm sound great but I want more out of a fuzz. I had a zvex wooly mammoth and did not like it at all.

The Musket was great and all, but for some reason, it just felt like I was playing a guitar pedal that sounded good with bass. But the PPB, you just tell it was made for bass. If that makes any sense. haha!

Of course I think the Team Awesome Fuzz is the best thing ever, so I'm not too worried about it. |

I much prefer a muff that has enough lows and mids to not need a blend. The Musket does this. That is why I now own a Musket. |

I feel the problem with a simple clean blend implementation is that I don't want a full range, unprocessed signal mixed with the distortion. I would want a lowpass filter on the cleans so that the highs wouldn't clash. That and I would want to compress the lows on the clean signal to better match the dirty, the problem being that if you compress into the front end of the distortion/fuzz you're messing with how the distortion responds. |

I've had my PPB for about three weeks now and am enjoying it much more than my musket when using it in the same band that I had used my musket in. The PPB has a low end (thanks blend and the different circuit) that the musket just can't touch and its got great range on the tone and gain knobs, combine those with the blend and its got a lot of tones available. |

I currently have a TAFM, Wooly Mammoth, and a Swollen Pickle. I want to flip the Swollen Pickle for a smaller pedal, which is why I was going to pick up a Pickle Pie, but the Musket sounds pretty radical as well. I'm also planning on picking up an Oxide as well to round out the fuzz flavors at my disposal.
I also have a Rat Tail, SFT, B3K, and a modded tubescreamer for OD, and I just got an LS-2 because I want to start blending two dirt paths for some more experimental gnarly tones.
Like the idea of the Musket because of the mids/focus knob and the ability to add preamp OD gain in one pedal. Like the ideal of the Pickle Pie because of the smart clean blend and it's simple to dial in nature. |

It's on my list too, but I do like the smaller enclosures of the other two. My pedalboard space is about to be at a REAL premium. I already have 14 pedals and just bought a Super Synth, LS2, and a Xerograph. Oh boyyy | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
